University Data Store (UDS)
Overview
Data from systems across the University are collected into a secure and managed University Data Store (UDS). The EBIS team has created a number of standardized reports which satisfy the needs of the majority of our users. The UDS is organized into distinct data stores by functional area including Student, Human Resources and Financial data.
Please be aware that data within the UDS is governed by Columbia University's policies regarding data security and usage:
Individual Data Stores
The Financial Data Store includes data from the University's ARC financial system including:
- Accounts Payable
- Chartfield Statements
- Claim on Cash
- Consolidated Operating Reports (COB)
- Endowment
- Financial Statements
- Fiscal Year-End
- Fringe Benefits
- Fund Balance/Overdraft
- General Ledger
- Payroll
- Pension Accounting

- Project Lifecycle
- Trial Balance
The Human Resources Data Store includes data regarding Columbia University employees from the PAC, LA, TalentLink and PageUp systems. HRDS contains a wide cross section of subject areas including:
- Employee Actions
- Employee Personal Data
- Job Data
- Labor Accounting (LA)
- Payroll
- Recruitment
- Vacation Accrual
- Workforce Demographics
The Research Data Store includes data from the University's Research systems, including InfoEd Proposal Tracking and Project Development, as well as Rascal.
The Student Data Store includes data from Columbia University's Student Information System (SIS) as well as the PowerFAIDS financial aid system and Vergil.
