Adobe is licensed under Columbia University's discounted pricing agreement with Adobe Institute and is available only to current Columbia University affiliates. The software is not available to alums or retirees.

Clients purchasing Adobe are responsible for the installation and correct use of the product, as well as understanding hardware and operating system requirements. Sign in to creativecloud.adobe.com/apps to install and download the appropriate application.

*Upcoming Updates Creative Cloud, Document Cloud, and Experience Cloud*

Adobe will be pushing out updates to the CUIT VIP Admin Console. This update should not impact users' access to Creative Cloud, but you will be asked to log back in. Adobe will separate users with another business or individual plan under the same email address into different profiles to help them choose where to create and store their content. How to Obtain Adobe Licenses

All software will be distributed by download.

  • Columbia University Officers of Administration can submit an online request. CUIT will also send an invoice if requested.
  • Students and Faculty must order Adobe directly from Adobe
  • Some other departments provide Adobe for their users. Please contact your internal purchasing area to be sure your license is provided by CUIT. If you have questions about how to purchase Adobe, please call the CUIT Service Desk at 212-854-1919 or submit an online request for information.
  • If you are from CUMC looking for Adobe licensing with a “cumc.columbia.edu” domain, please request a license by clicking here: CUIMC  Service Catalog, or email [email protected].

New Prices

  • The price is fixed and cannot be pro-rated. 
  • The price is based on the licensing contract and includes an administration fee.
  • To get the best possible results and avoid any downtime risk, please purchase a renewal at least one month before your license expires.
  • Acrobat perpetual upgrade plans: The Acrobat perpetual upgrade plan renewals were no longer available after February 1, 2022, and new purchases ended on December 1, 2021. This change applies to Adobe Acrobat 2017 and Adobe Acrobat 2020.

 

  • Adobe Creative Cloud apps can be installed on up to two computers. To install on a third computer, you must deactivate one of the licenses from one of your previous machines. Learn more about activating and deactivating Adobe Creative Cloud apps. 
  • The price is prorated monthly and must be renewed annually. To get the best possible results and avoid any risk of downtime, please make sure to purchase a renewal after you begin to receive the expiration notices from Adobe in November.

License Validity Dates

The Adobe license is valid from January 14, 2024, through January 14, 2025, and must be renewed annually.
