Eligibility

This Microsoft Office installer is specifically for Columbia-owned desktop and laptop computers. If you are looking to install Microsoft Office on your personal computer, please check your eligibility on the Software Downloads page.

Eligibility to download Microsoft Office on Columbia-owned devices is generally limited to University officers, support staff, faculty and specific graduate/professional students at CUIMC and CBS.

If you are not eligible, you will not be able to download the installer and will be redirected to a page with additional information. For more information, please visit our Microsoft Campus Agreement information page.

Computer Requirements

Please make sure your computer meets the necessary requirements to install Office 2024 for macOS.

Download, Install and Activate Microsoft Office for Macs

Note: You must have admin access to your computer to install Office and the serializer.

Office 2024

Office 2024 for macOS (17.8 MB)

Choose Save if prompted.

Double-click the Microsoft_Office_LTSC_2024_VL_Serializer (.pkg file) to run the serializer.

After the serializer finishes running, you will be asked if the file can be moved to the trash. Click OK.

Note: To activate your Office download, you must have a secure campus network connection or be connected via VPN if off-campus.

Download the entire Office suite by clicking this link (it may take a few minutes).

Double-click the file that was just downloaded to run the Office installer. The file name will be Microsoft_365_and_Office_16.102.25101223_BusinessPro_Installer or similar (Microsoft may make slight changes to the name). 

After the installation finishes, you will be asked if the file can be moved to the trash. Click OK.
