CUIT's Virtual Agent Solutions include chat, web, SMS, and email virtual agents to Columbia's schools and departments. CUIT manages the vendors and assists with each bot's design, creation, and ongoing maintenance.

Pricing

  • New virtual agents will be assessed a startup fee of $3,000
  • Each virtual agent will require a recurring yearly fee of $1,450
  • Note: All pricing is subject to a minimum 2% increase each fiscal year

FAQs

It takes about 8 to 12 weeks to launch a bot. Once launched, there is continuous review and improvement for reliably answering questions.

Departments must provide the following:

  • Set of questions/answers (generally frequently asked)
  • A minimum of one dedicated person who can spend time each week to review the bot
  • A group of people who can test and help train the bot before launch
  • URL where the bot will be placed
  • Permission to add code to the designated website for the icon to appear

Departments do not have their own separate bots. CUIT creates a new subagent for each department and incorporates it into the Columbia University Bot, providing access to all the knowledge CUB has to offer. The CUB icon will appear on each department's website.
