Windows/Office 2019 Activation Instructions
After you have downloaded Windows 2019 or Office 2019, follow these steps to activate the software.
1. Log in using an account with Local Administrator privileges
2. Confirm that your Date, Time and Region Settings are correct. Activation may not work if these are set incorrectly.
3. Activation requires a secure campus network connection. If you are off-campus, you will need to set up VPN.
4. Click on Start, type 'cmd' in Search, right-click on Command Prompt and select Run as administrator
5. For the question, "Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your PC?" Select Yes.
6a. If you are activating Windows 2019, type the following command at the prompt:
slmgr -skms kmsprdapp02.adcu.columbia.edu
6b. If you are activating Office 2019, type the following command at the prompt:
cd "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office16"
cscript ospp.vbs /sethst:kmsprdapp02.adcu.columbia.edu
cscript ospp.vbs /act
7. After executing the command(s), you will have successfully activated your Windows 2019 or Office 2019 software.
